It's Toesie Time! The Twinkle Toes foot patrol is on the loose!
Please raise your big toes and repeat:
As a member of the Toesie Twinkle Toes Sisterhood, I pledge the following when I wear sandals and other open-toe shoes:
* I promise to always wear sandals that fit. My toes will not hang over and touch the ground, nor will my heels spill over the backs. The sides and top of my feet will not pudge out between the straps.
* I will go polish-free or vow to keep the polish fresh, intact and chip-free.
* I will not cheat and just touch up the big toe. I will buff and moisturize my skin so my feet and soles are soft and silky.
* I will shave my legs.
* I will not wear pantyhose with my open toe shoes even if my misinformed girlfriend, coworker, mother or sister tells me the toe seam really will stay under my toes if I tuck it or tape it there.
* If a strap on my shoe happens to break, I will not duct-tape it, pin it, glue it or tuck it back into place. I will fix it or toss it.
* I will resist the urge to buy jelly shoes for the low, low price of $4.99 even if my feet are small enough to fit into the kids' sizes. I recognize no one can walk properly when standing in a pool of perspiration and I would hate to take someone down with me when I fall.
* I will take my Toesie toe ring off if my toe swells and begins to look like a Vienna sausage.
* I promise to be pedicured or soak in a magical Foot Soup. (Hot Milk and Honey or Warm Salted water and Rose Petals) at least once a month.
* I will promise when I wear flip-flops that they actually flip and flop, making the correct noise while walking. I swear NOT to slide or drag my feet while wearing them.
* I promise to go my local beauty salon at least once a Toesie season to treat myself to a real pedicure. (They are worth EVERY penny).
* I will promise to throw away any white or off-white sandals that show signs of grease, grass stains, or BBQ condiment.
* I will share this knowledge and experience with the non-initiated.
